N.Tseveenmyadag, Director of Birds Research Laboratory of Scientific Academy, B.Nyambayar of the Center of Wildlife Research and Protection, and Ts.Munkhzul, a biologist, have collaborated in writing the book and the illustrations are by the distinguished Japanese artist, Takashi Taniguchi. The illustrations are a special attraction.
The Asian Chapter of Bird Life International and the Wild Bird Association of Japan helped in the work on the encyclopedia and the Keidanren Fund sponsored the publication. All money from its sales would be spent on study of rare birds in Mongolia, raising awareness of the need for bird protection and financong bird watching clubs.
