The Mongolian Televisions Channels Union has charged the Mongolian National Public Television (MNPT) with consistently violating a provision in the law that prohibits commercial advertising on public radio and television. This has affected the revenue of privately owned TV channels and thus violated the media’s right to free speech. Lack of action from the monitoring authorities has surprised and confused the general public. The Union has urged immediate stop to the practice and has said it is ready to seek redress from the courts
