A man called S.Enkhmend has been arrested for the rape and murder of a 23 year-old woman, identified only as E. According to police, E worked as a taxi driver in Orkhon province. On March 20, Enkhmend hired her taxi to go to Jargalant soum from Ulaantolgoi collective farm. Somewhere on the way he raped her and then used her scat fro stifle her to death. He hid the body in a mountainside place near Ulaantolgoi and left the car in the snow.

Enkhmend was sentenced five years in prison in 2006 for sexual assault. He was freed under the amnesty law last August. His interrogation is still continuing.
