The Professional Mineral Council has accepted the reply given by Ivanhoe Mines Mongolia to its letter seeking clarification on certain provisions of the technical and economic feasibility study for the Oyutolgoi project. This clears the way for work to begin on the project on April 6, six months after the investment agreement was signed.
Altogether 12 changes have been incorporated in the original study. The discussion was attended by 32 members of the council, including professional experts and officials. Mining PhD N.Avarmid, N.Bayarkhuu and J.Zanaa of civil movement did not agree with the majority and are expected to continue with their reservations in other forums.
