President Ts.Elbdgdorj told a German a delegation led by Peter Ramsauer, Minister of
Transport, Building and Urban Affairs, which called on him on Tuesday that Mongolia
was grateful for German support to its democratic revolution and for rendering
various types of assistance since then. He traced the historical reasons “why
Mongolians are very friendly to Germany”.
He offered Mongolian raw material for use by German industry and stressed the
importance of trilateral collaboration among Mongolia, Russia and Germany to
improve the railway transport system for trade between Asia and Europe. He
expressed satisfaction that the visiting group included the State Secretary of
the Ministry of Agriculture, as Mongolia was seeking to use new techniques and
technology to be able to process its agricultural raw material and export them.
Those present at the meeting included Kh.Battulga, Minister of Road,
Transportation, Construction and Urban Development; L.Bold, Defense Minister
and a member of the Mongolia-Germany parliamentary group; D.Battulga, head of
the Presidential Office; L.Purevsuren, Advisor to the President on Foreign Relations;
and Pius Fischer, the German Ambassador.
The President also conferred the award of the North Star upon Michael Glos, a
member of the Bundestag and a former Minister for Economics and Technology, for
his significant contribution to expanding bilateral cooperation in trade and
economics.
