Ulaanbaatar has about 15,000 wire poles and their
maintenance is the responsibility of Gereltuuleg Chimeglel LLC. Since the
company is overburdened with work, Tsahilgaan Teever LLC was asked to repair
the poles in Bayangol and Songinokhairkhan districts.

The General Manager of the city, Ch.Bat, told yesterday’s
meeting of the Mayor’s Council that this company did not use the latest
technology and proposed contracting the work to a new company following a
tender. He also recommended setting up a Lighting Board to be responsible for
better supply to the ger districts, apartments, and for street lighting. The
meeting agreed to set up a working group to study the suggestion.
