to the President, yesterday received Graeme Hancock, senior mining specialist at
the World Bank in Mongolia. They discussed issues relating to amendment of the
law on mineral resources and the need for inputs from MPs, the government, the
President’s Office and other stakeholders.
Hancock said the World Bank is ready to finance the process. In recent days the
need has been felt to revise the present law on mineral resources to make it
more comprehensive, to organize trainings and seminars led by Australian specialists,
and to make the rights and roles of all in the mining sector more clear and
transparent.
The program is expected to begin in the autumn.
