Sh.Tuvdendorj, General Secretary of the DP, is the new
head of the party in Ulaanbaatar. A Consultative Committee of the party met on
Saturday where 91% of the members chose him from a list of three. Of the two
others, MP Kh.Temuujin was late for the meeting and thus could not be
considered, and J.Batzandan, a member of the committee, withdrew his name. Thus
Tuvdendorj was actually elected without competition.
MP S.Erdene, whom Tuvdendorj replaced, left the
meeting as he was against the way things had been done. His term had ended and members of the
committee prepared the list of three names after a secret poll had found 78%
were against Erdene continuing in the job.
