Some 140 artists from 12 Asian countries will be represented
in Asian Blue Sky, as the 25th exhibition of contemporary Asian art has been
named. Jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the
Modern Art Gallery and the Asian Artists Union, the exhibition will open at the
Mongolian Modern Art Gallery in the Culture Palace on September 15. This is the
first time such a show is being held in Mongolia.
Artist B.Chogsom, State Prize winner Do.Bold, Craftsmen’s Association’s Prize
winner P.Tsegmed, and artists N.Narangerel and D.Batmunkh, the Director of the Modern
Art Gallery, A.Chadraabal, gave information about the exhibition.
Its theme is the loss of ecological balance and the need to protect the
environment. As the host country, Mongolia has been allowed to be represented
by 40 artists, while 20 each will come
from Japan, China, and South Korea. The number of artists from Indonesia,
Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and
Australia will vary. Prime Minister S.Batbold will inaugurate the exhibition which
will be open for two months. Tickets will be MNT3,000.
