The Organizing Committee for the IVth World Boxing
Championship for Students (WCS) in October met on Friday to review the progress
of preparatory work. The Ulaanbaatar City Administration, the Physical Culture
and Sports Board, the Students Sports Committee and the National Olympic Boxing
Committee were entrusted with the work and have finished 90% of it. The event
was to be held at the new Sports Palace being built by the Chinese at
Buyant-Ukhaa but since it has not been handed over, it has been shifted to the
Central Sports Palace.

The Mongolian contingent has been training in Erdenet
city for the last 45 days and will now move to Huhkhot for two weeks. A Russian
team with 16 boxers will join the training on September 27. Top Mongolian boxers,
including world champion P.Serdamba and silver medal winner N.Tugstsogt, will
be seen in action.

The Organizing Committee confirmed that companies
contributing between MNT1 million and MNT5 million, in cash or kind, will be
given Sponsor status. The Official Sponsors will be those who offer help
between MNT5 million and MNT14 million and contributors of more than MNT14 million
will be termed General Sponsor. Onoodor will be the media sponsor and Mongolian
National TV and TV9 will cover the event live. The Organizing Committee
acknowledged the help it has received from Golomt Bank and Sod Press.
