The Prime Minister
told Wednesday’s cabinet meeting that a large number of people he met during
his recent tour of 9 central and western provinces asked about job prospects
laces in the Oyutolgoi project. He has asked the Ministries of Social Welfare
and Labor, of Education, Culture and Science, and of Road, Transportation,
Construction and Urban Development to make arrangements for more people to enroll
in vocational training centers (VTC) to acquire the qualifications to claim a
job at the project.
Oyutolgoi LLC intends
to train 3,300 people in the next three years, spending MNT36 billion on
improving.VTC facilities, including extending existing buildings and
dormitories. All training will be free.
The Prime Minister
has asked the Ministries to make agreements with Oyutolgoi LLC to see that
those attending the VTCs work not only for that project but also for other mining projects and on constructing railways, auto
roads and industrial complexes.
The Oyutolgoi project
is divided into sub-projects covering almost all sectors such as construction,
steel construction, mechanics, and electricity transmission line (ETL) for
erecting the mine.
