Taiwanese volunteers will soon be spreading
the innovative idea, Shortening the Digital Gap, in Mongolia. The One Laptop
Per Child (OLPC) project originally founded by MIT (Made in Taiwan) Media Labs
aims to bridge the digital gap. The idea is to provide a laptop for around
USD100 to help children in developing countries learn how to use computers.
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) has
built up APEC Digital Opportunity Center to help in the work and
Taiwanese non-profit organizations and private enterprises will join hands to
spread the work in Mongolia.

Altogether 20 Taiwanese volunteers and  manufacturers will  plant Information Technology seeds in the
minds of Mogolian students. They will establish Taiwan-Mongolia Digital
Classroom, equipped with Edubook, and rechargeable batteries, and ready to be
assembled in a ten-minute process with 30 steps.
