Around 250 representatives from government and non-government organizations, professional water organizations and academics attended a meeting on Friday /March 12, 2010/ where they exchanged views on how best to manage the Tuul River basin. The river feeds Ulaanbaatar.

The Ministry for Environment and Tourism also took a decision to celebrate on International Water Day the 72^ndanniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian water sector, by organizing a scientific seminar on March 22 on water development. The seminar will aim to increase student participation in environmental work. They will make presentations on subjects such as “Water and Climate”, “Water and Energy”, “Water and Pastures”, “Irrigation for Agriculture”, “Water Sports Tourism”, “Water and Food Safety” and “General Management of Water Reserves”.
