Pressure is growing within the party to force Bayar out. The recent decision of the board to dismiss Songinokhairkhan district’s Civil Representatives Assembly director and Governor G.Byambasuren has not been received well, with 17 members expressing their protest with offers to resign. It is believed a worried Bayar has advised Khurelsukh to maintain peace and not to trigger fresh problems until his return.
The demand for Bayar’s dismissal is being orchestrated by the Democracy-Innovation- Tradition-Justice wing in the party. If Bayar feels threatened, he may well choose to resign after appointing one of his own men as his successor, to keep former President N.Enkhbayar at bay.
