The Asian Judicial Institute
at Texas Wesleyan School of Law has been working with the Government of
Mongolia for more than 10 years, helping the country”s Parliament and Supreme
Court create observance of the rule of law and independence of the judiciary.

To see up close what lawyers
and judges do in the USA, a Mongolian delegation will visit Fort Worth Monday
and Tuesday. The group will include Biraa Chimid, who played a key role in
drafting the new Mongolian constitution as the country emerged from communist
rule to become a democracy. Joining him will be chief of staff Dashjamts
Battulga, legal adviser Gombosuren Ganzorig and lawyer and interpreter Sainzaya
Chimid.

The focus of the visit will
be on how to combat official corruption. The group also will travel to Austin
to meet with members of the Texas Ethics
Commission and the Texas Judicial Qualifications Commission.
