On 29th January, the Mongolian Parliament approved the protocol for setting the dates of the parlimentary election and also that of the Municipal and Local Civil Representatives’ Assembly. The approval means that these will both be held on same day, namely 29th June. Mongolian citizens, who are living and working abroad, will be able to vote on 17th– 19th June.
Also, during the Parliament session, a section of the “State Service Law” relating to elections was altered; if a civil servant intends to be a candidate in either a parliamentary election, the presidential election or a civil representative assembly election, he or she must vacate their posts prior to 1st January of the election year.
