The State Judo Championship started today at the “Khangarid Palace” in Orkhon Province. On this occasion, the championship is being organized to mark the 40^th anniversary of the Orkhon Province and the 20^th anniversary of the First Honorary Sportsman, D.Narmandakh, who was a bronze medalist at the Atlanta Olympic Games in Atlanta. D.Narmandah was also the first Asian Judo Champion from Mongolia.

This year also sees the 39^th State Championship of the men’s category, the 24^th of the women’s and the 4^th team category. The Mongolian Judo Federation, the Administration of the Orkhon province, the Judo Federation of the Orkhon province, and the Khangarid Sport Commission are organizing the event. The Mongolian National Broadcasting Television will provide live coverage of the State Championship today at 14.00 pm.

The champions of the men’s 60kg, 66kg, and women’s 57kg, 63kg, 70kg, 78kg, and the 78-plus will be announced today.
