Two months have gone by and the Prime Minister has still not appointed the Minister of Health. We, therefore, asked the Secreatary at the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) some questions in order to seek clarification.
-Everybody knows that a ministerial appointment is required in the health sector. But, it is taking too long. How do your party members see this issue?
-According to the contract between our party and the Democratic Party, we have made a proposal to the Prime Minister to appoint MPP Chairman N.Enkhbayar as the Deputy Prime Minister. We did not choose him without reason. The Executive Bureau has decided to appoint him during the meeting. As I’ve already said. There is no problem in appointing the MPP Chairman as the Deputy Prime Minister.
-Minister G.Shiilegdamba has just been released on bail. Some people conider that it is illegal for him to go back to work. What do you think?
-Appointing ministers is entirely the responsibility of the Prime Minister, so if he decides that Mr Shiildegdamba returns to his old job, there should be no trouble. Also, G.Shiildegdamba is not guilty. Why shouldn’t an innocent do his job?
