On 13th December, MNT 380 million was stolen from a branch of the Trade and Development Bank in Ulaanbaatar. According to an official source, at around 09:30, two armed robbers entered the bank, located in the 18th khoroo Songino-Khairkhan District and demanded that a bank assistant open the safe. One shot was fired at the ceiling. Terrified, the bank assistant did as they asked and handed over the money without question.
According to the General Police Authority, officers arrested the robbers within 24 hours. The pair are brothers, E and B, born in 1992 and 1985 respectively. Both are unemployed. The police have retrieved the MNT 380 million as evidence and started the investigation.
