The fifth “Malta-Open” chess competition took place on 15^th-22th November in Malta. A total of 200 chess players from 31 countries have participated in the event. The winner of the competition was Mongolian Chess Master B.Gandavaa who won with eight points, defeating his opponents on seven of all nine chess boards. Therefore, B.Gundavaa has become the two-time champion of the “Malta-Open” having also won last year’s event. Mr J.Munkbayar, a judge of the International Chess Federation served as deputy judge at the “Malta Open”.
