On 15th-17th November, the Minister of Industry D.Erdenbat made an official visit to Germany. During his visit, two important contracts were signed.
The first concerns the establishment of a 60 megawatt power plant, which will have the flexible ability to produce power not just from from coal but from other sources of energy. The co-operation contract was signed between “Baruun Mongol Energy LLC” and the Mongolian and Germany Joint Company “Sacks Energy Mongolia”. Under this contract, Mongolia’s western provinces will be supplied with domestic power, rather than being dependent on Russian energy imports.
The second contract regards a motor oil and auto-lubrication plant. The “Sod Mongol Group” and “EDL Anlagenbau Gesellschaft МBH” signed the contract. The technical feasibility study of this factory which has an annual 15000 tons of oil capacity annually has been completed; construction work will start in July 2016 and the production of the oil products will start from the 1st quarter of 2018. The cost of the project is USD 42 miliion.
