Last year the Mongolian Government approved the protocol list for 42 countries, whose citizens do not require a visa for travel to Mongolia for a period not-exceeding 30 days. The list includes: Austria, Andorra, Argentina, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Uruguay, Finland, France, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Chile, Sweden, Switzerland and others. This protocol enabling visa-free travel came into force in June 2014; however, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed that these visa preferences will not be extended beyond 31^st December 2015, because of security-related issues connected with the ASEM-2016 Summit.
