During to the first nine months of 2015, a total of 19.6 million tons of coal was extracted; 17.3 million tons of which was sold. Coal export was 11.58 million tons, which represents a reduction of 22%.

The “Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi Company” is the main the exporting company (3.5 million tons of coal over this period), followed by “MAC Company” (2.5 million tons of coal). The new coal exporter, “Usukh-Zoos” exported 2 million tons of coking coal and energy coal; “Energy Resource Company” exported 1.1 million tons of coking coal concentrate. The remaining coal was exported by “MoEnCo Company”.

According to the National Transportation Department, the trasnportation of coal via “Gashuun Sukhait” fell by 47%. The price of coking coal and coking coal concentrate, which is the main product of “Tavan Tolgoi” has fallen by 20%, on November 2014, on the Chinese market.
