Foreign direct investment (FDI) influences economic growth, employment, and the livelihood of a country. In 2011-2012, the average net FDI into Mongolia was USD 4.5 billion annually. This figure fell dramatically to USD 2 billion in 2013 and then further dropped to USD 0.4 billion in 2014. The foreign organizations are expecting that the FDI for 2015 will be USD 0.1 billion. In reality, however, the net investment from foreign sources is USD 44 million.
