Since 2010, by order of the President of Mongolia, the second Saturday of each October, will be celebrated as “National Tree Planting Day”. So, on 10th October, individuals, companies and organisations participated in the tree-planting campaign across the country.
President Elbegdorj alsotook part by planting a tree in the“TasganOvoo”. This new micro park was created in connection with the “Ulaanbaatar- Fresh Air” project. The President planted an eight-year- old spruce in the middle of the park.
The President told journalists about the campaign, “The “National Tree Planting Day” was officially declared in 2010. Since then, 8.8 million trees have been planted in Mongolia, ofwhich,5.6 million are growing successfully. I hope this one will grow well too”.
