On October 8, President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj addressed the plenary session of the Parliament, where he reported to the Members of Parliament and the citizens about the possible earthquake disaster. According to the statistics of the Research Center for Astronomy and Geophysics at the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia, and the National Emergency Management Agency, the number of unfelt earthquakes near the capital city has been increasing in the last few months. In his remarks to the Parliament, President Elbegdorj warned the people of Mongolia to be prepared for potential natural disaster and asked the Government to take the necessary precautionary steps. 

On October 3, 2015, last Saturday, an earthquake with magnitudes of 4.4 struck in Ulaanbaatar. Most of the people in the capital city, particularly residents Bayanzurkh District which was the epicenter of the earthquake, reported feeling the strong tremors.
