Since it became possible for Mongolians to visit Russia without a visa, the numbers of visitors from Mongolia has increased. Unfortunately, a number of Mongolians have become victims of crime. To solve this issue, a meeting of police from Mongolia and the Russian Federal Republic of Buryatiahas been held in Ulan-Ude; the outcome was an agreement that the Buryat police will offer protection Mongolians. Mr Oleg Kudinov, the Minister of Interior of the Russian Republic ofBuryatiaconfirmed their positive response to the Mongolian request. In the future, both the Mongolian and the Russian sides will co-operate toto prevent crime occurring again. Agreement was also reached regarding the exchange of information regarding wanted criminals and the provision of legal support for Mongolian victims of crime.
