Ambassador Jennifer Zimdahl Galt has met with President Ts.Elbegdorj in order to present her credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Mongolia.  The ceremony took place on October 5, 2015 at Government House in Ulaanbaatar, during which the Mongolian President noted that he has just participated in the “United Nation -70th General Assembly”, which took a place in New-York in September. Ambassador Galt, said that “The Democracy is developing successfully in Mongolia, in line with the relations with the USA in the fields of politics, economy, humanity, and defense; good progress is being made. In the future, it is hoped that these relationships will deepen still further. I am glad that the new young generation, who were born during the Democratic Revolution, is beginning to take a role in society”.  

Ambassador Galt was nominated by U.S. President Barack Obama on May 7, 2015; the U.S. Senate confirmed her appointment on August 5.  Previously Jennifer Galt served as Principal Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou, China. Her other overseas assignments have included postings in Belgrade, Taipei, Mumbai, Beijing, Shanghai, and Brussels.
