Recent research results indicate that the liver cancer rate in Mongolia is eight times higher than the world average. Also, Mongolia stands after South Korea in the incidence of stomach cancer. More disturbing still, the age of the patients is getting younger, and Mongolia is in front row of countries responsible for cancer deaths in the world. The reason behind these alarming figures has been explained by poor information to the public about cancer. Therefore, to counter this, the Ministry of the Health and Sport is prioritizing providing information about prevention, scans and treatment. In addition, the 7th Annual Conference of the “Mongolian National Oncology Center”, the “Mongolian Liver and Pancreatic Doctors’ Institute”, Japan’s “Nagayama Oncology Institute” with visiting doctors from South Korea and Kazakhstan will be held on 26th September this year. For the first time the conference will be under the patronage of Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg.
