Below are excerpts from the address given by Mr Z.Enkhbold, Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament, who is currently attending the Fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, which is being convened by the Inter Parliamentary Union in cooperation with the United Nations. The conference began on 31^st August at UN headquarters in New York and concludes today.

Ladies and Gentlemen

First of all, I would like to express my appreciation to the International Parliamentary Union, which is organizing this conference. The “Millennium Development Goals” which have been uniting us for the last 15 years have served their duty magnificently in the social and economical development of many countries. Although we have implemented most of the goals successfully, there are numerous issues that are slowing things down and need to be taken into consideration. During this time, Mongolia has achieved great success in the implementation of the UN “Millennium Development Goals”. Also, the Mongolian Government has issued a resolution to implement an additional “9^th Goal”, which is aimed at strengthening democracy, human rights, and good governance. The main purpose of any international joint institute is to provide the constant development and dynamic progress of every country. The Legislature Organizations must finance the required plans and projects, which are essential to make the necessary changes to the law, improve the control to the Government in order to implement the most recent Development Goals since 2015. The Mongolian Parliament will work especially hard in these directions.
