Prime Minister S. Batbold, now visiting Austria, has met with Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, Secretary-General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). OSCE lays great stress on improving transit transportation between Asia and Europe, something very useful for a landlocked country like Mongolia.      

The Prime Minister wanted OSCE help in laying a route through Mongolian territory that will shorten the distance between Asia and Europe. Mongolia will now attend a meeting on this issue that OSCE is holding from May 24 to May 26 in Prague. Batbold urged OSCE to discuss the issue in a conference to take place in Mongolia next year.

The Kazakhstan Ambassador to Austria, who attended the meeting, referred to the success of a seminar on combating human trafficking co-organized by Mongolia and the OSCE in February 2010.
