On 25^th August, the Deputy City Mayor of the Chinese city of Zhangjiakou City, Mr. Zhou Limin, the Russian Ambassador to China, H.E. Andrei Denisov, and the Mongolian Ambassador, Ts.Sukhbaatar, participated in a wreath laying ceremony at the monument of Mongolian and Soviet soldiers. This monument covering 396 square meters and consisting of 5 areas is located at “Janchkhuu Davaa” (in Yehu Mountain Zhangjiakou City). This monument commemorates the Soviet and Mongolian soldiers, who lost their lives during the “Languogu Operation” in August 1945.During this operation joint Soviet and Mongolia forces fought a fierce battle against the Japanese. In all 860 Japanese were captured or killed; 60 soldiers Soviet and Mongolian soldiers died. Thirteen brave Mongolian heroes, for example Ayush and Janchiv lost their lives during this, the hardest fight of the Liberation War at “Janchkhuu Davaa”.
