The Mongolian Government has decided to provide special exploration rights to firms wishing to conduct mineral exploration in 19.9% (31.1 million hectares) of Mongolian territory. The special rights, under Government Protocol Number 239, for 20.9 million hectares are being provided by applications; the remaining 10.2 million hectares by tender. The online application has been held 23 times since 26th January 2015. During the online registration, 2235 entities registered their application queue numbers; 1141 applicants, however, failed to book their applications in time. The Ministry of the Mining, therefore, has processed the remaining 1094 applications, which were made in time.
