The IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Management David Waller told Prime Minister S.Batbold at their meetingthat Mongolia has been selected as a model anti-cancer center of Asia, a proposal Batbold had made when he wasMinister for Foreign Affairs. This selection paves the way for IAEA to seek finance from countries for Mongolia.
The Prime Minister signed a cooperation agreement with UNIDO to install European standards in all sectors of Mongolia. He said Mongolia has watched Kazakhstan’s progress by introducing European standards and hoped UNIDO assistance will be of help to Mongolia also.
He told Yo.Uramoto, Deputy Director of UNIDO, that the UN body’s help on industrial policy has significantly affected Mongolia’s development. They agreed to cooperate intensively to gather the necessary funds to implement the Technical Cooperation Program which was approved in 2006.
