A special ceremony to mark the traditional Mongolian script version of the international best-seller, “Wolf Totem”, will take a place today at 12.00 in Puppet Theatre. At the event, Chinese writer Jiang Rung, will be presented the highest Mongolian award of literature “Literary Master”. The close friend of the Jiang Rung, the real inspiration of Yang Ke in the novel is also attending the opening. A movie, based on the novel was made last year, and directed by French director Jean- Jacques Annaud, of “Seven Years in Tibet” fame, and staring Mongolian actress R.Anhknyam played in the main role.   

The novel is set Inner Mongolia during the Cultural Revolution and deals with the close bond between the local nomads and the wolf, as seen through the eyes of Chen Zhen, a young Chinese student.
