Today is the 25^th Anniversary of Mongolia’s first democratic election. In order to celebrating this anniversary, an “International Commemorative Conference Dedicated to 25^th Anniversary of the First Democratic Election in Mongolia” is being held in Ulaanbaatar’s Shangri-La Hotel today. At the beginning of the conference, Mongolian President Ts.Elbegdorj addressed the guests. In his speech he said that: “The first election which took place 25 years ago was the Mongolians’ historical choice and the first democratic free-election in all Mongolia. Mongolian democracy is not the one-time choice”. Many high-ranking guests participated in the conference, for example: UN Under-Secretary-General Jeffrey Feltman, Indian Information and Broadcasting Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan, Deputy Assistant US Secretary of State, Susan Thornton, South Korean ex-President Lee Myung-Bak and others. The director of the President Administration, Mr. P.Tsagaan is chairing the conference.
