The Asian Cycling Championship has just taken place in South Korea. During the five-day event (22nd-26th July), a total of 77 cyclists in eight teams from five countries participated in three kinds of events. Countries taking part included South and North Korea, Japan, the Philippines and Mongolia.
The Mongolian team was headed by Honorary Sportsman J.Ulzii-Orshikh, consisted of 6 members and was participating under the name of Mongolian Student Federation. Mongolian cyclers did well in this year’s event, leading the race from the day one of the competition. As a result, Mongolian cyclers took three gold, one silver and three bronze medals. This has been the first time that the Mongolian team has been awarded the champions’ cup.
