“Sovereignty Day”

The Mongolian Government has decided to celebrate 29th July as “Sovereignty Day”, marking the country’s first democratic elections, which were held on 29th July 1990. On 3rd June, Mongolian President Ts.Elbegdorj issued a Decree (No. A/324) regarding celebrating the 25thanniversary of the election on the 29th-30th July. Related to this, the City Mayor of Ulaanbaatar issued an Order (No A/624) regarding the “Working-Time Schedule”. According to the Mayoral order, all governmental organizations will work between 08.30-12.30 on 30th July and 10.00-17.30 on 31st July. Measures are being taken to eliminate traffic jams and create a more pleasant environment for the foreign visitors who have invited to the “Sovereignty Day” celebrations.
