The City Tourism Office, “Miat LC”, “Juulchin”, and “New Juulchin” are ready to participate in an important International Tourism Exhibition which will take place in Hong-Kong on 11th-14th June.

In total, 483 organizations from 49 countries are participating in this 4-day event. The first day of the exhibition will be for professionals only; the second day for the general public. The Government is seriously promoting tourism; within the “Ulaanbaatar Welcomes You Program”, and a decision has been taken to focus on marketing Mongolia to its neighbors with direct flight connections. In this context the Mongolian companies participating in Hong Kong have been allocated a 18 metre2area in the very central part of the exhibition hall.

Last year, 115 million Chinese traveled abroad. Most of them are from Shanghai, Beijing, Hong-Kong, and Guangzhou. Advantages of attracting tourists from China include the 5 weekly flights between Hong-Kong-Ulaanbaatar and possibility to book visas directly from the Mongolian Consulate.  In order to help prepare to receive large numbers of Chinese tourists Professor Kaye Chon, who is  both the head of the Department of Hotel and Tourism and director of the University of Polytechnic University of Hong-Kong, has been invited to teach Mongolian hotels and restaurants managers.
