The Government is bringing a famous “Chinggis Khaan” statue from London. The statue is by the well-known Russian sculptor Dashi Namdakov. The statue will “preside” over the Mongolian races and sport events. It will be a symbol of our country. This amazing statue was in the UK during the London Olympus 2012; various countries including China, Russia, and the USA offered to buy it.
Bringing this statue to Mongolia will be a big stimulus to Mongolian tourism, and national heritage. During a Government meeting, senior officials decided to exempt the statue from custom taxes and VAT. Member of Parliament D.Bat-erdene has bought this remarkable statue with his own cash, and will transfer it to the State Treasury Fund.
