Last autumn the City Representative Council approved the program for “Ulaanbaatar Welcomes You”. This took place at a regular meeting on 22nd September 2014.
Under this program, the Council is working on three phases; firstly, to increase tourism revenue to the city by up to 20%, secondly, to increase the number of tourism and hotel staff by 35000, and, thirdly to increase the number of tourists by 2 million in 2020; and 5 million in 2030.
This summer’s programme for introducing Mongolian art and culture contains a lot of new tourism oriented events:
