As part of the “Ulaanbaatar Welcomes You” program, on 5th June, a hundred couples danced Viennese waltzes on Chinggis Square. This was one of the big events of the “Vienna Night” Ulaanbaatar-Vienna-Cooperation Program. The symphony-orchestra, consisting of 120 musicians played classics by the famous Austrian composer Johann Strauss, and such Mongolian melodies as “Uran Khas”, “Love Waltz”, and “My Ulaanbaatar”.
Austrian conductor Matthias Fletzberger and Mongolian Art Emeritus N.Butenbayar, N.Tuulaikhuu, and maestros D.Nyamdash, Ch.Tumurbat conducted the orchestra. The chief of the Ulaanbaatar Ensemble R.Munkhsaikhan was event director. The famous Austrian dance teacher Heinz Heidenreich and his wife taught simple waltz moves to the guests.
