Ulaanbaatar City currently needs to fix 50% of all its heat conducting pipes. At present they are working with 10% losses. The repair cost will be covered with MNT 10 billion of government funds and MNT 5 billion from the “Ulaanbaatar Heating Network Company”.

Repair work is hampered by shortcomings in the protection service. Currently, there are 300 objects that need to be put directly onto the protection list. A lot of pipes need repairing in ger-districs – especially in Bayanzurkh district 14th -25th khoroo. The situation is so bad that if damage occurs during winter, it might be impossible to repair the damages.

Renewing and repairing work of heat pipes will commence from 15th July. The repairing route from the Bayangol Hotel to Peace Avenue, and from the Sonsgolon Crossroads to the Wholesale Center is already 25% completed. Yesterday, repair work has started from the Central Post Office to the West Crossroad.

The “Ulaanbaatar Heating Network Company” is trying to finish their job without cutting the hot water off.
