Yesterday (25th May 2015) Parliament approved the various articles in the Mongolian and Japanese Economical Partnership Agreement, which had been signed by Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg, during his visit to Japan in February this year. Yesterday’s discussion was set on February 17th. The agreement has 5 chapters: general articles, to reduce trade barriers and improve customs, to improve competition and business environment, co-operation and ending articles.

The Agreement identifies the following as the main fields in Mongolian-Japanese cooperation; agriculture, industry, small and medium enterprise, trade, investment, infrastructure, building, urban management, science, technology, intellectual property, finance services, education, tourism, environment, mining, energy, health and information technology.

Parliament approved the areas of cooperation and forms to process the agreement. For example, undertaking technical and economical research, exchange of professional experience and experts, develop a study program, organize lectures and seminars, and provide technical assistance.
