The President of Mongolia has paid an official visit to Russia. During his working visit to Russia, the President of Mongolia has received the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and Head of the Russian, Mongolian Intergovernmental joint Committee Sergey E. Donskoi.

The meeting with Minister Donskoi was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia L.Purevsuren, Head of the President's Office P.Tsagaan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Russia  Sh.Altangerel, and from the Russian side, Director of Foreign Cooperation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment  Inamov Nuritdyn Rachmanjanovich,  the ministry's Director of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Department Balajirovna Anna Vladimirovna, and other officials.    

At the beginning of the meeting, President Ts.Elbegdorj said, “It has not been long since the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Mongolia. I would like to note that several deals which were agreed upon during his visit are now underway.

"For instance, during the visit of the Russian President, we concluded an agreement to allow travel without a visa between Mongolia and Russia, and we began implementing this agreement last December. 

"We would like to note that the number of cars crossing the Russian border has doubled in comparison to previous years. In connection with this we need to improve border checkpoint activities." 

During the meeting the two sides agreed that the Intergovernmental Commission of Russia and Mongolia is an important mechanism for resolving issues in all directions of cooperation between the two countries and the activity of the commission should be intensified, to sophisticate the structure of the commission, and take into consideration the implementation of the decisions reached.
