Today the Mongolian Civil Society held a press conference critical of the high turnover rate of state employees, and said there is an urgent need to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Over the past three years, almost 45,000 civil servants have been dismissed due to shifting political leadership. After the 2008 election, almost 8,000 civil servants were dismissed or transferred to another position. After that, the number of dismissed and transferred state employees increased to 15,000 in 2012, 18,000 in 2013, and 21,000 in 2014. 

Until now the situation hasn’t changed, said member of the Management Council of the Mongolian Civil Society Ya.Erdenesaikhan. 

From 2012 to 2014, 16,000 state employees resigned after being transferred to other positions. 

The parliamentary standing committee on application issuance is now reviewing the contested dismissals of up to 30,000 state servants dating from 2012.
