Oyu Tolgoi LLC has signed a cooperation agreement with Khanbogd, Manlai, Bayan Ovoo, and Dalanzadgag soums of Umnugobi Province.

The cooperation agreement is dedicated to the improvement of the regional environment, water management, pasture management, protection of cultural heritage, development of national history and culture, tourism, to maintaining local businesses, and to strengthen a company policy to direct procurement to local businesses to support the region and the activities of Oyu Tolgoi LLC.

Oyu Tolgoi LLC will provide financing of five million USD to a development fund each year, which will be spent on the implementation of projects in the five soums in Umnugobi.  The Board of Directors of the development fund will make the decisions about the financing of projects and programs.

During the signing of the agreement, Head of Citizen’s Representative Council of Umnugobi Province L.Batchuluun stressed, "In order to make contributions to the social and economic development of the region, parties will maintain transparent, mutually beneficial cooperation.”
