The Minister of Agriculture, R.Burmaa, has received delegates headed by Leonid Eliseev, the manager responsible for a Russian and Mongolian organization to support exports to Canada.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister R.Burmaa said, “Mongolia and Canada have expanded their cooperation during the last few years, and the number of tractors and combines being bought by our farmers has increased.
"The introduction of soft loans and other financial services and loans with lower interest rates, and the introduction of techniques and technology for the agricultural sector will create the possibility to expand businesses for our entrepreneurs working in the food sector.
"However, in Mongolia, it has not been long term since the establishment of a memorandum of understanding between the ministries of Canada and Mongolia, but substantial work has still not been done."
The sides stressed that there is a need to put attention on the further expansion of cooperation.
Leonid Eliseev, noted that Mongolia and Canada have great possibilities for future cooperation since these countries have similar weather conditions, and in the case of economic structure the agricultural and mining sectors activities are dominant.
The sides have exchanged views regarding cooperation with Canadian export promotion organizations in the field of implementing major agricultural projects.
