Financing of Egin gol hydroelectric station has resolved 

According to the soft loan of the Government of China the proposal to build and finance Egin gol hydroelectric station has made to the Chinese side and has decided to launch the agreement. The Government of Mongolia has made a decision to build hydroelectric station in 2013 in order to quit from the energy dependency and give to the utilization the hydroelectric station.  

The Feasibility Study of the project is being discussed at the meeting of the Consul of Science and technology dated 25 August 2014 of energy sector and approved. The Total cost of the project is 827 million USD.

Hydro electric station in Erdeneburen soum

The Minister of Energy, D. Zorigt instructed to build hydro electric station at the Khovd river of Erdeneburen soum of Khovd aimag  with the purpose to supply the electricity demand according to the domestic resources and to provide reliable performance of energy system of western region of Mongolia.  Expenses necessary for the elaboration of the Feasibility Study of the hydroelectric station should be financed by the costs of the project to build hydroelectric station in Erdeneburen soum”.

Consumption of energy of western region in 2013 was 127. 1 million kw/hour and 28.6 percent of the total energy consumption is being produced from Durguni hydroelectric station, and the remaining energy is being imported from Russia and China. During the last few years, the energy consumption is increasing by 5-10 percent each year.

700 Mega Watt Electric stations will be built in Baganuur

Director General of the Foreign Investment and Regulation Department is allowed to conclude Concession agreement “Baganuur power station” with “Baganuur Power” LLC according to the terms build –utilize-transfer. 

It has been instructed and assigned following officials, to fulfill below mentioned responsibilities in regard with the construction of the power stations the Minister of Energy D. Zorigt, Minister of Road and Transportation N. Tumurkhuu, Mining Minister R. Jigjid, The Minister of  Environment, Green Development and Tourism D. Oyunkhorol to decide issues of supplying coal, water supply and providing special permissions of railways, auto roads according to the related procedures and to review and approve the environment assessment and impact plans accordingly.
