A festival to celebrate and promote the culture of breeding camels, “Meeting of Camel Herdsman- Camel Breeding Promotion and Culture Festival 2015” was organized in Choibalsan, Dornod aimag, on February 25, 2015.

Camel herdsmen from Bulgan, Gurvanzagal, Bayantumen, Sergelen, and Tsagaan-Ovoo soums of Dornod aimag participated in the event. 

The following events were organized at the festival: worshiping of fires, training camels, piercing of the noses of camels, and camel polo.

A team from Tsagaan Ovoo soum was selected as the best of the festival. Issues of how to successfully breed camels and the difficulties faced by camel breeders were discussed at he festival. 

Last year, 4,635 camels were being raised in Dornod aimag.
